Keith Sobey was born in Wallsend on Tyne and has spent over two thirds of his life living in the North East and the Lake District.


After a highly successful career as a public sector accountant, Keith decided to become an entrepreneur in 2000. He founded and managed The Centaur Group of Companies which went on to become the largest sports betting/ investment/ bloodstock / education company in the UK.

Keith is also the founder and CEO of Learntobet.com and learntobetusa.com, which are the leading betting education sites in the world.


After 12 years of sustained growth, Centaur had an ann us hornbills in 2011 and went in to liquidation. Keith moved to Ireland while the liquidation was being settled and while there wrote his autobiography "Stick orTwist". 


I am intensely proud of completing and publishing my first novel " Migrants"


I was inspired to write the novel after witnessing the plight of thousands of Asian refugees night after night on the BBC News.


The novel tells the story of five women who are uprooted from their homelands and face adversity in trying to rebuild their lives.


The novel has received excellent reviews and is being printed in the Far East as well as Europe.


A sequel " Wanderers" will be published in October



Stick or Twist is the autobiography of Keith Sobey, the most successful sports gambler in the UK.


Keith is best known for founding the Centaur Group which was the largest betting investment , betting education and bloodstock company in the UK.
